When it comes to Fintech innovation the Money20/20 conference is the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’. It’s Europe’s largest Fintech event where the biggest and brightest in Payments, Fintech and Financial Services come together to share their ideas, world-changing innovations and grow their networks and partnerships.

Earlier this month AEVI was at Money20/20 Europe in Amsterdam. Amsterdam is special to us as it is where our marketing and management teams formulated our unique value propositions 3 years ago. Since then we’ve gone from strength to strength, and our vision for openness remains unchanged.

Highlights of AEVI at Money20/20

This year Money20/20’s buzz was about openness and collaboration. With the new PSD2 (Revised Service Payment Directive) having come in to play earlier this year, the focus for innovators has very much been on how to work together to provide better payment solutions for consumers and businesses alike. Banks and Fintechs have realized that
“To be a successful platform you have got to be open” as the CEO of ING group, Ralph Hamers, insisted on. This is because nowadays consumers and merchants alike have the freedom to move themselves and their data to the service providers that give them the most value, that will help them solve most of their daily tasks.

Our CEO Mike Camerling joined Leo Nielsen from iZettle, Paulette Rowe from Barclaycard, Amy Parsons from Discover and June Felix from VeriFone on a discussion on how to evolve Point of Sale propositions to meet today’s increasingly complex needs.The consensus on the panel all agreed Small Medium Businesses (SMBs) need a partner. A partner that take away the complexity of payment solutions for them. A partner to guide them on what will help them grow and manage their business better. A partner that recognizes there is not one size fits all, a partner that be able to give them a choice of flexible, relevant and thought-through integrated POS solutions.
On the fun side, after the success of our infused water bottle campaign last year, we brought some delicious ‘liquid’ ice cream to steal the show. Treating our guests to a pick and mix style rolled dessert certainly had everyone smiling, the cheerful team from LoopingGood served over 2,700 ice-cream rolls! We’d like to thank all our supporters who we met at the 3-day event, the fantastic crew from Fintech Finance, Acuris, Finextra, Revue Banque, The Fintech Times and Payment Cards MagazineNetwork for joining us on the booth.
